The week that was.......

A glass of cherry bier went down very well with the mussels when we lunched at the Belgian Bier Cafe

On Saturday I visited the Sunnybank Quilters Quilt Show & enjoyed the members' display of their work.  This is only one of the quilts - made by Sue Morgan.
The quilting added wonderful interest to the quilt. I loved it.

Mail Art going out

Spent the day with a friend at Pine Rivers & Redcliffe Art Galleries catching up on the exhibitions of textile art - an absolutely wonderful way to spend a day. Got home with enough time to make these pieces.

My sister's birthday is coming up - so I made this for her.

Another music fabric postcard complete with ric rac.

Enjoyed making this one - fabric postcard with machine stitching.... these added to my MailArt 365 project - now up to 218 - still a fair way to go.

Buderim Broms

We were asked to help on the gate of one of the gardens in the Australian Open Garden Scheme last weekend. This was one of the visitors we saw - he & his friends visit morning & evening to have a feed.

This garden, "Belle Reve" is full of bromeliads - absolutely stunning - part of the garden, above.

The fernhouse.

This is the flower of the Jade Vine - could not believe the colour & apparently it had faded a bit because it was in direct sunshine. Would love to have that in our garden!!!!

Boonah - SoTA 12

Quilters are NOT dull - Sue was showing off her Texas bling at the recent opening of the SoTA12 exhibition in Boonah.  I'm a week late in posting this - had a lovely night at the opening. The exhibition runs until the end of August at the Art Gallery in Boonah.

 Kathryn's piece.
Kate speaking about her entry.

Ali explaining her techniques - it's always great to hear the artist talk about their baby! I have such talented friends and it's always great to share an evening with them.
