Bridal Exhibition - Qld Museum

Such beautiful dresses, such tiny waists!

A Bishop's robes

Always wanted a cape like this one & a muff - so suitable for Qld weather!

1920's dress - gorgeous

Different cultures represented

The train was phenomenal and all  traditional Fijian workmanship by the bride's mother.

This chandelier is in the Qld Art Gallery but would have been entirely suitable for some of the brides featured in the exhibition.

Labyrinth

A couple of weeks ago, I walked a labyrinth - another tick on the bucket list.  This one was at St John's Lutheran Church, Corinda (Brisbane) and was painted on canvas (hence the wrinkles, so wanted to straighten it!) - as the candles were lit, they added another dimension to the experience.  There are a few labyrinths in SE Qld - one in St John's Cathedral and one at Grantham where a flood took a number of lives and homes in 2011.

Nos 20 - 22

I think I created a little owl here.

Keeping to simple designs & it works!

Love hand stitching

Decided to put this one in a frame - thinking perhaps Christmas presents

These little scraps of fabric turn into delightful pieces.

A couple more meditative bits.

Nos 15 & 16 of my meditation pieces.  Think these have become my favourites - at least for the time being.

Father's Day

Had to laugh when I looked at this photo.  Didn't notice when I took it - they are both standing the same way.
And they walk the same too.  I can post this here as he doesn't follow his mother's blog.

Meditation still going strong

Thought - these could be proto-types for big quilts!

This is a seascape - if you use your imagination.

A little more meditation for me.

These are so lovely to do and certainly get you mind working.

This was in response to our Colour Challenge for August - Tetrad Colour Scheme - Double Complimentary - hmmmm -  challenging - one thought.  Then I looked at the colour wheel and came up with this little piece.

As you can see I'm not ironing these when finished and I'm not ironing the fabric as it comes out of the basket - perhaps I should!  Convincing myself that it does add another dimension...............

Backyard offerings

These are our onions growing in an old bath tub.  Husband thought he planted brown & red onions.  Pretty sure we've got spring onions and maybe a leek or 2 & maybe some trying to be red onions.  Have used them & they are quite delicious.

Our family at Mt Nebo have a kumquat tree that has been prolific.  Fruit harvested and made into a jam/marmalade - not as tart as marmalade but has a little tang to it - first time effort and worthy of crumpets.
