Clermont Quilters

The ladies brought in some really interesting work - this wrap was so soft - knitted entirely from ……..wait for it...……..the strings of tea bags!!!!!
 A landscape.
A bag made from wrapping 2" pieces of wadding with jelly roll strips - mats are made in the same way only circles!
A very lovely hexagon quilt - entirely hand done.
A beautiful piece done in a Gloria Loughman workshop.

Out and about round Clermont

This is the drive along the Peak Downs Highway.
Guessing these were once volcanoes - some peaks along the highway.
The coal train painted with scenes - this is a static display.

The sign accompanies the above pans.
Wombat & baby at the entrance to the park - concrete but still patable.
The streets are so wide and so empty on a Saturday afternoon.

The tide was out, the sand was a little coarser than we're used to but it was so quiet, we saw 4 other people - lovely end to the day.

Breakfast

These ducks arrive, talk to each incessantly, find their mate, then fly off in a few months to breed, then come back to repeat the process.

Flaggy Rock Café - nice place to start the day.

View from our table.

Driving from Mornbah to Carmila on the coast

We stopped at Nebo for a break - the pub is quite old.
A couple of locals ( young ladies) rode their horses down for lunch.

Through the mountains, windy roads, then sugar cane fields.
