2QAQ

Saturday afternoon was the 2QAQ (Queensland Quilters Art Quilters) meeting.  Our guest speaker was a paper artist, Robyn of Red Zebra Designs http://www.redzebradesigns.com.au/

The paper was sewn over an old wedding dress.  She only uses old or secondhand books, no newspapers. Apparently street directories make really wonderful pieces - who would have thought it. She also does wedding boquets - it was a really enjoyable meeting.

Workshop with Jenny Bowker

A week of learning techniques, listening to stories, gaining inspiration from other like-minded women - what more could a person want - it was fabulous.

My inspiration - souvenirs and photos from Vietnam.

Will this work?????

Or maybe this will look OK????

The week's work was displayed at an exhibition of student's work on the last evening. It may not look like much but I was extremely happy with what I achieved.  More to come.  Thank you, Jenny, for an absolutely wonderful week.

Im baaack.................

My little car was feeling the cold at Mudgee - one stopover on the way south to Ballarat in Victoria.
I stopped at Carcoar in New South Wales on the way down - advertised as the town time forgot.

Caught up with friend, Teresa, for lunch in Ballarat - we had a great chat

Ballarat Grammar School - it's back to boarding school for me for the week - all a bit different to when I was at boarding school in the 1960's.  They had heating in the dorms & classrooms ( I was really thankful for that!!!) but no heating in the dining room.
Seeeeeeee - it was really cold!!!!!!

We had frost on a few mornings - that was cold for a Queenslander like me!
