Finishes!

Don't you just love batiks!  Made from my stash (still lots there!) for a young couple who got married in 2014 - actually finished it last month - I called it Batik Wedding.

This same couple has had a baby boy - Cooper & this is his quilt - a jelly roll, hand appliqued owls, hand & machine quilted and the quilt has been named - "Cooper's Owls" (I know, really imaginative!!)

Driving home from Sydney

We left Sydney & drove along the  Putty Road & stopped for breakfast here along with all these bikers.  Breakfast was great and HofM had a cup of tea.
Don't you love the pink tea cup?

We stopped at this Coptic Monastery - church was on & I entered (shoes off) & was just in time for a sprinkling of holy water.  Very ornate robes on the priest and it seems that most of the people were from Africa.  A really interesting experience.

Visiting friends

On the way home, we called in to Severnlea near Stanthorpe to visit a quilting friend that moved from Brisbane to the tranquility of the Granite Belt.

While in Sydney, I drove to Bowral to visit another quilting friend who moved from Brisbane some years ago - lived in Sydney till recently & then up-sized to this.  They are still working on the garden - it's great & will be even better as they continue to work on various areas.

Windsor & Ebenezer

We visited Windsor and this replica water wheel is in the mall of Windsor
Lunch at the oldest pub - the stone steps are so worn down - guess many, many patrons since 1815.
It was a day of history - this little church at Ebenezar was also a school when first built.  The ladies serve a really lovely devonshire tea - all on the banks of the Hawkesbury River.Eb
