First Christmas's are always special

This is No: 1 son - expectant father of Baby Bump - he was 18 months old; below is No: 2 son @ 11 months & then No: 3 at 8 months - glad cameras were invented as our memories are never as clear as photos!

Hope everyone had a great Christmas - whether you celebrated yesterday or a few days ago as we did!

Party, party, party!

I can feel the kilos being added to my hips - all these Christmas break-ups & last Saturday, my group, Triple P (Purple Paddo Patchers) had a Birthday Bash.  We celebrated Christmas in July.  Four of us have our birthdays this month - hence the four cup cakes. Just a couple more to go then a quiet week before Christmas.  What a season!

Baby Bump's Quilt

Our grandbaby's quilt is finished - barring the label - don't have a name - can't make up my mind what to put on the label.  Really happy with it - Appliqued with blanket stitch, hand quilted - love the ric rac.  All from my stash - still working on getting that smaller - however, the recent bus trip added  a couple more pieces to the stash.

Christmas is close

It was the Children's Christmas Service at Church on Sunday - the sheep were well behaved - the boys were wishing they were somewhere else.  The children did really well & it was a lovely way to celebrate the beginning of the Christmas season

Sherwood Stitchers Bus Trip

We had lunch at various venues along the esplanade at Redcliffe - there is an area devoted to the Bee Gees - Redcliffe bring their home in the 1960's (I think I'm right!)  We ended our day at Northside Sewing Centre http://www.northsidesewingcentre.com.au/ was our last stop and I forgot to take photos.  It's a great shop with more wonderful fabric.  It was a great day out.

First stop after a long trip from Sherwood to Shorncliffe (about an hour for those not from Brisbane) - then on to the shops - first shop was Faeries in my Garden http://www.faeriesinmygarden.com.au/ - they are holding a sale in January. Delightful shop & great fabric.

It's a jungle out there............

Photo's a bit wonky - sorry 'bout that! A friend is expecting another Great-grandchild & asked for a jungle themed quilt. Hope this qualifies - there are elephants, giraffes, tigers, monkeys and a pink rhino ( hope that isn't too strange????)  All from my stash - still trying to get that down..............  Will welcome comments on the design.

More Baby Stuff

I have made some Burp Cloths -pattern came from http://homemadebyjill.blogspot.com.au/2008/burp-cloth-tutorial.html - I know we used to use an old nappy but these are made from flannel & are so soft & really quick to make.

Stuff for Baby

As the day gets closer when the baby bump will be revealed - I am making a few things as any quilt grandmother to be does. I bought this panel in Devises, Wiltshire & am pleased with myself  - I finished it! A little clothe book.

De-stashing????

Ever the optimist - using only strips from my scraps & stash - of course, it didn't make a slight bit of difference to the amount of fabric I have!!!!  Top finished - it goes into a pile awaiting the finishing touch..............

On their way..............

These 2 pieces are my responsibility to send out.  We made 6 pieces when 3 of us (that's Mail Artists) met in London recently.  We had fun & HofM moved himself out of the equation by chatting to the people at the next table.  We met in the "Spy Room" of the Morphett Arms Pub - where MI5 meet for lunch!!!!!!

Regents Park

We're home!!!! I've still got a few photos to post so will continue with the trip for a little while. These shots are all from Regents Park - couldn't get over the fact that so many flowers were still out in England as well as the foliage changing - so beautiful.

Mystery tiles

These little mosaic pieces of art appeared all over east London streets - they popped up in lots of place & all different - every now & then an arrow apeared.

Finally - he found the Golf Course

It was cold, promised (&delivered) rain, but HofM finally got in a game. To reach the course from the club house, one has to negotitate the A1 - a very busy road!  Fortunately, they've put in a subway crossing for the locals & golfers.

Sooooo English!

And this was the pub that housed the loos of the previous post.  We had lunch there - low ceilings & a thatched roof - what more could one want.
