Regents Park

We're home!!!! I've still got a few photos to post so will continue with the trip for a little while. These shots are all from Regents Park - couldn't get over the fact that so many flowers were still out in England as well as the foliage changing - so beautiful.

Mystery tiles

These little mosaic pieces of art appeared all over east London streets - they popped up in lots of place & all different - every now & then an arrow apeared.

Finally - he found the Golf Course

It was cold, promised (&delivered) rain, but HofM finally got in a game. To reach the course from the club house, one has to negotitate the A1 - a very busy road!  Fortunately, they've put in a subway crossing for the locals & golfers.

Sooooo English!

And this was the pub that housed the loos of the previous post.  We had lunch there - low ceilings & a thatched roof - what more could one want.

Loo Lids!

Love it when a loo gives a surprise!  I certainly did a double take in this one.  Just had to take photos.  Gotta love the English sense of humour & nonsense.

Quilt in Wood?

Our host in Chippenham uses wood - she makes cupboards, stools & wall pieces - above is the front (all smooth) & the reverse below - more textured & the odd bit of colour - she doesn't varnish, just uses an oil to protect. The variety in the colour of wood was amazing.

Different shapes found at the Steam Museum, Swindon

Not sure what I'll do with these shapes - maybe it will lead to a 2QAQ piece one day!

Devises, Wiltshire

The leaves are turning and they were putting up Halloween decorations on the front of the pub.  Devises is a really lovely town & I also found a little quilt shop there - surprise, surprise!

The tide goes out so far in this area that the tractor has to take the life boat out to the water & below the 4WD took to the beach to go fishing for the day.

Welsh Quilt Museum

Above are some of Kaffe Fassett's quilts & the whole exhibition was wonderful.  The antique Welsh quilts are stunning - guess who's inspired to make one & who bought a book of patterns!!!
