Celebrating 90 years

Not bad for 90! We had open house and the family celebrated with Dad.

Open Studio at Aliquilts

What a wonderful weekend - Mel http://www.mixedmediabymelforrest.com/ and Ali http://aliquilts.com.au/ were the artists featured at Aliquilts Studio at Tarome. I was also privileged to be included and we hung our quilts in the Garage Gallery. We thank all those who visited nd made the weekend so successful.  Ali and Mel demonstrated workshops over the weekend and we all sold some work. It will all happend again in May 2015.

Cousins

We returned to Coochiemudlo Island during the week.  We had a holiday home on the island some years ago & haven't visited in some time.  We took Vic's cousin from England over to see the beauty for himself.  Couldn't have asked for a more perfect day.  We lunched at the Red Rock Cafe - pretty good.

Wedding at Cabarita NSW

Doog & Sam's wedding was held at Cabarita - beach cricket for the boys in the morning, vows at the Headland and the reception at the surf club.  A lovely weekend for all.

No: 1 son was best man, his partner was the photographer and we got to look after Benny while Mum & Dad were occupied.  She was very well behaved until it all got too much & she had to have a little weep.

Rita's scarf

A friend's scarf - the suffolk puffs are around 3/4" finished and sewn together - no backing - it's lovely.

Eden's quilt

This was a bundle of fat quarters and I used a pattern "Hokey Pokey" by A Quilter's Dream www.aquiltersdream.com It's going to a baby girl, Eden - it was fun to make.  I did learn something when making this pattern - it is best to read all the instructions first.............

Elias's quilt

This quilt is for Elias - the great-grandson of friends of mine.  Think it's cheerful and hope the family will like it. I like it.

Benny is growing up.

First Mothers' Day for her mum.  They visited us too - Benny's toy is Emma & she's a truck driver who hates speed cameras - I'm going to have to find out the full story on this Emma - she'll certainly be a different influence.........

Stars of the future???

Saturday saw us in Toowoomba for the afternoon at Newtown Park.  No: 2 son & Zeus took part in recording a small bit in Tony Robinson's new documentary on War Memorials.  There is one in the park for animals who have fallen in war.  Tony talked to Anthony about his experiences in Afghanistan and how Zeus has helped him over the past months.  He even spoke briefly with the parents (not on camera).http://www.youngdiggers.com.au/dogs
