Last month we had a demonstration at Sherwood Stitchers & were shown how to make bowls by wrapping strips of fabric around clothes line or rope or wadding and then being stitched together. I've bought the book "It's a Wrap" by Susan Breier http://www.susansstitches.com/ but have yet to try it. Some of the girls at Sherwood Stitchers have already made coasters, place mats and a bowl. |
My travelling can take you from Auchenflower to suburbs of Brisbane, parts of Australia or different countries of the world - hope you enjoy the trip!

This time next week, I'll be in Sydney at the National Quilt Study Conference http://australianquiltstudygroups.blogspot.com.au/ . I am co-presenting a paper on the Miegunyah Quilt Project. Miegunyah is an historical house here n Brisbane and home to the Queensland Womens' Historical Association http://www.miegunyah.org/ TheAssociation has a number of antique quilts that I have had the honour of helping to document. Looking forward to visiting the Sydney Quilt Show too - a week away..........with two good friends. Hope it's not too cold for us Queenslanders. |
