Must have hurt!

One of our chooks is producing this type of egg every now & then. I reckon it must really hurt to lay - it's quite large & the shell is wrinkly!

Christmas Stockings

A coupled of cute Christmas stockings have gone to Claire & her brother, Oscar.
This is Grand-daughter, Benny's Christmas stocking.  Made last year & each year, I'll add a little charm - the white snowflake was last year & this year was a little green heart (can't see it in the photo!)

A Quilt for Claire

Made for a friend's daughter - from charm squares - such an easy pattern.  I used old doilies for the label - think it worked out nicely.

2QAQ Meeting

Last month's meeting of 2QAQ - Qld Quilters' Art Quilt group. I demonstrated a collage technique - without using fusible web & placing torn fabric, then hand stitching the pieces.
It's really relaxing & everyone seemed to enjoy it.
One of the girls started a table runner - I believe it's already finished.
Our next meeting is next Saturday, 31st October at BVAC Hub, 140 Weller Road, Wellers Hill.  We start at 12.30pm.  Textile artist, Rebecca Staunton-Coffey  will be sharing her knowledge.http://aliquilts.com.au/fabrics/  She & Ali George make the most devine fabric.

What would you call this?

I placed scraps of fabric on to Pellon, pinned them in position and started stitching.  It's only around 12" square & I'm not sure where it's going.  I just really enjoyed doing it and I used up a few scraps.

2Q Workshop

A Julie Haddrick www.haddrickonfabric.com.au/ workshop through Qld Quilters www.qldquilters.com last month was really great.  Design, techniques & advise were all part of Julie's great workshop.  Above is the is the printing - a result of the stamp I made.

This was a great exercise and some of them might just end up being a Modern Quilt or an Art Quilt.  I was really pleased that I drew the designs freehand.
