Boonah Cafes

Boonah is a country town an hour south west of Brisbane.  We go there for retreats so know th town pretty well.  Rockalicious is a 50's style cafe in the main street.  Well worth a visit.  They make their own ice cream & it is delicious.

There is a dress on the wall next to Betty Boop - they have dresses for sale - again hand made.  Lollies in bottles and the decor is just divine.  The food is pretty good too.

Getting rid of more scraps - lots more to go but feeling pretty righteous that 9 scrap quilts (lap sized) have been made & 4 given away.

Finished!

Using an embroidered canvas (the house, bridge & trees), a silk panel and various blocks that didn't make it into other quilts and I had another quilt for my International Room when it's empty again. That happens when our son buys his new home!

Left over fabric from a Hungry Caterpillar quilt became this Play Mat for a new baby, yet to arrive, for our young neighbours.  Both machine pieced, machine quilted and some hand quilting on the Japanesey one.

The agave is starting its bloom.

The pond at the back of the yard.

One of the may Bromeliads.

This agave is not as showy as its big brother.
