February - RED

February's colour was Red.  The A4 piece is called "Red Square"  I free motion stitched Russian style buildings and overlaid it with some white nylony fabric to give a feeling of snow.
Postcard - "Roses are Red" - homage to Valentine's Day.
Post Card - red fruit - cherries "Cherry Pie"

2QAQ Challenge

Our challenge this year is related to colour.  So we have been given a colour for each month & can make whatever we like no larger than 10" x 10".  January was orange - below are my pieces.  We only have to do one, but I got a bit carried away - not sure if I will be able to keep up the momentum.

"Dust Storm" - an A4 piece with an overlay of an organzery(?) type of fabric to give the dust storm effect.
This is a post card entitled - "Orange Juice".
Another post card - "Bird of Paradise" both cards are fused and free motion stitched.

Berry

It was very busy in Berry - lots of Chinese tourists & other day visitors (just like us!)
Even had to explain how this old switchboard worked.  Felt like a museum piece myself!!
 1950's kitchen & I remember it too.
Called into Berry Quilt Shop https://www.berryquiltandco.com.au
Lovely quilts, fabric etc etc etc.

One of the ladies is stitching these wonderfully, fussy cut pentagon blocks. Would love to see it finished.

Golf anyone

HofM played, I decided I needed a photo to show my style or lack of it.  I'm the buggy driver, caddie and advise on strokes/clubs needed - of course, he takes so much notice of me!!!!!!

Australian War Memorial

A must if you're anywhere near Canberra - never enough time to visit every display.  The Last Post ceremony should not be missed.

Done lots of driving

Our Australian high country - beautiful.  Sorry about the dark photo - if you do enlarge, you can see the snow markers on the side of the road.

Couldn't sit in the garden for breakfast because of the rain - Cooma.

Hume Weir outing.

The closest water for water sports is the Hume Weir - where we parked would be well under water if the weir was full.
The top of the red dirt is normally where the water level should be.
Two over 70 year olds out for some fun.
Flamingoes are flavour of the month.  The girls loved it & there were sequins in the wings.
The young girls don't go in to the water without their safety vests on.   It was a lovely day.

 Welcome to Lightning Ridge.
Coffee at Lightning Ridge - green grass & lots of 'roo droppings - they love the fresh green grass - not sure what water they use.
