Stitch Camp

Gwen Hedley workshop done through TextileArtist.org Stitch Camp.  5 days of small tutorials in making marks.  I don't like painting but made the above marks.  Then cut up the pieces, sewed them back together by hand and.....

am now adding hand stitching.  This piece ended up a couple of meters long and will be rolled on to an old cotton bobbin.  I've made a few of this type of thing but usually just with hand stitching, buttons and maybe some lace.  I do enjoy this part of the exercise.

WIPs

Starting a workshop/tutorial with Textile Artist Stitch Camp & I managed to get my bits & pieces together.  Certainly not as exciting as some of the other attendees have posted.

Also getting this herringbone quilt made.  I've had the fabric and the pattern ready for years.  Might actually get it done this year.  All batiks.

Another attempt at getting my scraps down.  There are 15 different blocks in this quilt - all scrap blocks so all will be different.  Ever optimistic.

Mt Nebo Family

Benni & friend - birds love her.
Even at 2 years old, she was talking to and feeding the parrots.

Halloween this year - Mum did the face painting.

Quilt for new baby

Melanie & Stewart met while serving in the Navy and their new baby's nursery is nautically themed. I was so thrilled when Mel asked me to make a quilt for their baby.  Really happy with the hand stitched whales & anchors, simple quilting, so it's still soft and cuddly.

Now, Christmas is over until later this year!!!!!!! I can show these stockings made for family in Sydney.
This one is for Lawrence - husband of great-niece, Jessica.

These are for great, great niece, Sophie & her father, Rhys, husband of  great niece Samantha.

These are for Stewart, husband of 3rd great niece, Melanie and mother to a baby to be born in February. I'm keeping his stocking until he's named & then he'll get this for his first Christmas later on this year.
Really enjoyed making them.

Stitch Meditations transformed

My stitch meditations numbered nearly 60 & I wasn't sure what to do with them.  Then I had an idea.

Heart decorations!

They've been given out as Christmas gifts and just because!

Easy to do & great to see how they are appreciated.  Have given most out & need to make more squares.  I've kept a few of my favourite meditations.
