2Q Challenge
My contribution to the Qld Quilters' annual Challenge. Fabric is provided - I used it in the large turtles and it has to be cover at least 20% of the front of the quilt. I used a drawing that my niece painted some years ago & used shashiko & perle thread for the quilting. I found out that I was the runner up in the viewers' choice over the 3 days of our Quilt Connect Show - no prize but tickled that people liked it.

Lismore Art Gallery
An afternoon off & we visited the Lismore Art Gallery - one Margaret Olley painting - very vibrant.
This amazing textile piece by the Lismore Embroiders' Guild - each 'rock' embroidered.
Outside view of the Gallery - it's only been open in this site since October, 2017 - still a work in progress but worth the visit.

Workshop in Lismore
I'm in Lismore, New South Wales, (about 2 hours from Brisbane), doing a workshop through Fibre Arts, with Cas Holmes of the UK. Learning disperse dyeing, wet applique, bit of painting, machine stitching, talking, laughing and enjoying the exhilaration of learning new techniques.
Cas Holmes sharing her knowledge.
Work in progress - one of my little landscapes ready for the 'wet applique'.
