RSVP Card

One of our great-nieces is getting married next year (actually 2 are within 3 weeks of each other!!!!) and this is the RSVP I created.  Certainly quicker to go out & buy one but not as much fun.  Appliqued on to a colour catcher - haven't decided whether to put it onto card stock or to finish it with a running stitch border & pop it into an envelope.  The dots on her dress do sparkle.

Quilts Across Queensland

 At our Royal National Exhibition (the Ekka) each year in August, there is a display of quilts - Quilts across Queensland - these 2 are by Kaye Sauer - she does fantastic work.

A selection of the art quilts - that's my "Inspired by Hong Kong" in the top right hand corner.  Great display again this year.

Another 2QAQ play day

My grandchildren are wearing the results of last month's 2QAQ play - tie dyeing.  We have covered a lot of different ways of dyeing during our meetings.

2QAQ meeting

 Each month, Qld Quilters' Art Quilters (2QAQ) meet and most meetings we like to experiment.  This meeting Sue Dennis had us playing with Sharpies and paint.  We wrote and drew on white cloth (below) and then painted or splotched with paint over the written words and drawings.  The cloth was then shared & I'm sure it'll appear in various incarnations as time goes by.  I know someone has already made a couple of journal covers - always over-achievers!

Sunday Drive

 We actually stopped & looked at this historical marker.

 Of course, Vic had to try it.

 Water was pumped up but there was a sign "not fit to drink" - so we didn't.

 On to Templin Historical Village near Boonah - slab hut - they certainly did it tough then.

 Fashion House - lots of great displays including the sewing machines.

And a tin of threads!
