Hume Weir outing.

The closest water for water sports is the Hume Weir - where we parked would be well under water if the weir was full.
The top of the red dirt is normally where the water level should be.
Two over 70 year olds out for some fun.
Flamingoes are flavour of the month.  The girls loved it & there were sequins in the wings.
The young girls don't go in to the water without their safety vests on.   It was a lovely day.

Dry rivers everywhere

The Castlereagh River or it should be.  Every creek/river we crossed was dry!

Seen on the way south

 Love painted silos...…
 and water towers.
 Welcome to Lightning Ridge.
Coffee at Lightning Ridge - green grass & lots of 'roo droppings - they love the fresh green grass - not sure what water they use.

Still at Nindigully Pub

This burger costs $80.00 - has 1.5kg of meat & comes with wedges & chips!
This is what was left - two BIG doggie bags went away with him.  He's a truckie & the left overs will feed him for a while.
The front of the pub - just red dirt.  Nindigully is on the Moonie River.
The back yard grass is watered from the Moonie River - it's seems to be the only river around with water in it - don't know why.  Wikipedia was no help!

First leg of our trip.

Oh, the straight roads out west!
It's so dry - it's heartbreaking.
Our room at the Nindigully Pub - no air con.
Dinner at the Pub - huge!

Weddings

We're heading south to celebrate the weddings of these 2 sisters and their beaus!  Jessica & Lawrence marry next week (16th February) @ Kangaroo Valley - an area we've never visited. The image taken from their engagement invitation. Hearts and embroidery embellishment on the image.
Sam and Rhys marry on 9th March in Nowra.  Image taken at their engagement. Flowers and embroidery embellishment.  It's always difficult making for someone else - you never know if they'll like it! I've been making stuff for these girls and their other sister (who is getting married in April but in Gibraltar -almost eloping) for most of their lives - till late teens anyway.  Dolls, quilts, Christmas stockings, etc etc - why stop now...…………….
