Apologies and Anzac Day

Not sure how many followers I have any more - for those of you who do try to catch up with me - apologies for the lack of posts over the last few months.  Not sure why I haven't been blogging - I'll try to catch up a bit & bring you up to date.

Red ribbons tied to our bushes during our driveway Anzac Day ceremony.  The street turned out for it.

We had bagpipers too.

3rd Birthday

Lock Down does not stop birthdays.  Our grandson celebrated his 3rd Birthday - very low key with just family in attendance.  Pin the Tail on the donkey is a little different with stick on tails these days.

Meditation 2

This one has to have a hanger - should find a nice old branch in the garden.

I've added some squares from another piece from the bin and these are blocks of dark colour.

A little bit of lace - random circles.

Buttons, scraps of fabric, more stitching.

A block of solid colour - love doing the stitching, just grabbing pieces of thread from a box of left overs from other projects.

The end of No: 2 - No: 3 has been finished, given to a friend for her birthday & Christmas present, but I forgot to take a photo.  So now I'll have to find more fabric to do some more.

Meditation

This piece is called 'Meditation 1' - the buzz word these days seems to be 'slow stitching' or meditation through stitch - I just know that I thoroughly enjoyed making this piece and I didn't know what to call it.  

It's hung on an old reel.  A friend threw out some pieces of linen (she had unpicked a jacket with the thought of doing something with it but never got around to do anything!)

At our Qld Quilters' Art Quilt group we have a bin of fabric that's been donated & so the linen jacket pieces ended up there. I took them home not really knowing what I would do.

I cut (free-hand) strips from the pieces and started stitching randomly, adding buttons occasionally.

This first one is hanging in my home.  It was a really delightful experience and I've produced 2 more from this same jacket.

Gifts arrived in Germany

Gifts arrived safely. Quilt appreciated and Alma apparently doesn't much like pillows so was happy that her unicorn cushion was flat!

Landscapes #3 & 4

These are the other 2 collages that my friend didn't want to finish - all done.  Think they look pretty good.  Pity the photographer wasn't that great!!!!

Benni is 6

The birthday cake is all important. Benni in the middle & Shiloh looking on.

 Shiloh ready to swing - they love it.

So brown even after a couple of good storms - hope it rains soon.
