Lovely sunset

Sometimes you can be lucky  HofM took this from across the road.
Taken from the back deck - not quite as stunning but a lovely glow lit the sky and surrounds.

Talking techniques

Nothing like sitting on the floor of a gallery & talking about techniques with like-minded people.

Last showing for SOTA17 exhibition

Entry of Dogwood Crossing Gallery at Miles, Western Downs, Queensland.
The entry has a curved wall which showcased works of quilters from the Western Downs.
Just in case someone might be going through Miles during these weeks.
The launch was today & well received by those who attended.
We had lots of help with hanging of the exhibition and we were very pleased with the display.
We took some quilts out that could be handled - a small trunk show.  They had to come home with us as there was no way to keep them secure during the exhibition.  They were a hit - visitors asked lots of questions and loved being able to touch the quilts.

Tourist Drives

A visit to Coochiemudle Island & this is what you can see!  Keeping cool on a pretty hot day.
Eat Street, Hamilton - always good food - ice-cream was great!
Repaired these sandals for our great-niece - orange shashiko thread will keep the soles & top together for a little while longer.
Plainlands Hotel, Lockyer Valley - cool jazz trio & really good food.

Fairies & 4 year olds!

So pleased we got to the "Do you Bee-lieve" exhibition at Old Petrie Town before it closed.
Not only were the 4 yr olds' eyes wide with delight - think a couple of adults were delighted too - so much to see & find in the displays.
Making a wish on the Unicorn!
Testing the floor for a crawling space - not quite there - the frog wasn't much help!

Tourist in my own city

Nothing like having an overseas visitor to get you out and about your own city.
A cafe in the basement of a building in Charlotte Street - next door to the Pancake Manor - owned by a friend's son-in-law.  Great iced coffee & nice cool stop off during our walk.
Museum of Brisbane - great place to visit.
Museum of Brisbane - paper cut - just amazing.
Mao's Last Dancer exhibition was wonderful - this was in a darkened area & the figure danced - delightful.
One of the Queen Street Mall facades.
This is the ceiling of the old Regent Theatre in the Mall - now a Tourist Information Centre - well worth a look inside - still very grand.

Manicure then the pool

My nails are done ....................by the nearly 4 year old!!!!  At least she chose the pink & not the green polish!
Their new home for the next 12 months has a pool - pretty handy at this time of year.
