Out and about round Clermont

This is the drive along the Peak Downs Highway.
Guessing these were once volcanoes - some peaks along the highway.
The coal train painted with scenes - this is a static display.

The sign accompanies the above pans.
Wombat & baby at the entrance to the park - concrete but still patable.
The streets are so wide and so empty on a Saturday afternoon.

  1. Can't say I've ever heard of Clermont before! I am very ignorant about a lot of Queensland, having only been to Brisbane and Cairns.

  2. It's in the coalfields of central Queensland. Southwest of Mackay. Just about an hour and a bit flying but probably 8-10 hours driving.
