Table Runners

Making table runners - the top one is made with indigo dyed fabrics I made some years ago in a workshop (that's the lighter ones) and the rest of the indigo ones were bought in Germany - finally using some of them.

BVAC Pop-up Shop

In early May, we had the BVAC (Brisbane Visual Arts Community) Pop-up Shop and these are a few of the items we had for sale.  I really enjoyed making the bowl at the top. My granddaughter thinks it's a hat!

 This is part of  the exhibition for this year.  Next viewing will be Redlands Quilt Extravaganza in June.  Twenty quilts were selected - above is Helen's - "Hamsa Hand"

Childers

 Just a few hours north of Brisbane is Childers - it sits on the highway heading to Cairns & is a great stopover.

This is where we had breakfast - if you're ever driving through - stop & visit the Art Gallery & the tribute to the backpackers who lost their lives in the hostel fire - it's worth the visit.

Hand Stitching

I did a one hour workshop with Ali & Rebecca -http://aliquilts.com.au/ - the kit contained a piece of hand-dyed, stamped fabric, a piece of hand-dyed thread, small scissors & a needle - a delightful hour of sitching.  I am continuing to cover this fabric with stitches and more thread - this shows small sections - thanks, Ali & Rebecca for the inspiration.

 The bat plants are in full bloom - we had 4 flowers on one plant.

2Q Challenge

 Also featured at the Stitches & Craft Show were the entries from the 2Q Challenge this year.  The fabric for the challenge wast the zebra looking fabric.  Mine is about and titled "Riddles" - zebra's bums, questions marks on newspaper - I asked the question what is black & white and read all over???  Could be a newspaper or a sunburnt zebra.
